There is a prairie dog down in Montana that is a state park. It's a very short drive around with a picnic area. I don't know if there is much of a trail system as there is a fence near by. Fences in country areas usually mean 'Keep out or get shot'

Lovely! Great lighting in this. Such simple creatures seem so photogenic. Is that another prairie dog in the background there?

Yup. There were a number of them around the place. They didn't seem to like us when we were out of the car but would go about their day when we were sitting in a car. It's like we weren't even there. A hawk even flew over that they noticed.
