On the way to the NE entrance to Yellowstone this coyote was walking away from what must have been a carcass up on the hill side (there were a lot of photographers staring at the side of a hill and a lot of ravens perched in trees). Then when the dipper-sheep-finch-golden eagle adventure was finished at the Lamar river we headed back to Mammoth, and ran into this coyote again returning to the carcass area and managed to get a few pictures this time.
Met a few coyotes on the trip. One was really far away and there was another one looking for a meal in the snow.
